Today was our second day to complete removing every single piece of hose, bronze, plastic, nuts and bolts, anything, that had anything to do with our holding tank and two heads. It's all gone!
Look at our waterline climbing higher and higher.....
All the parts are in the mail for our new compost pooper, I got the bucket and the plastic bags, all I have to do now is build a pretty box with a throne, set in a muffin fan vent and we'll see how this shit flies.......
I must say we're very hopeful that we can comfortably live aboard with this old and very simple system using peat moss to compost the solids and disposing of the liquids in a conscientious manner without it be too messy or inconvenient. To us, for under $200, it's a no-brainer to at least give it a try. If it's messy and just not right for us, we'll simply install another simpler holding tank system with proper pump out and direct overboard discharge. It's no big deal, just need the parts and of course we're keeping what we can. I love working on boats, almost as much as I love working on other peoples boats and getting very well paid.
Here's Vicky, just after I hauled the tank off the boat getting in under where the tank was propped up and strapped down to styrofoam. We are so happy and proud to have rid the boat of this overdue chore and way over due system to start fresh! It's how we are you know........
